Background

A description of the experience

Angie Wilson1 year ago

I believe her 1000 percent - because it happened to me.  I understand why people who have not had the experience can't believe it. The NDE was the most amazing experience of my life - no fear, no death, only love and light and complete peace.  You do see relatives who have passed (or I did).  Also saw a mid life review - sort of ran like a movie - I don't know how to describe it.  I'm glad she shared it- because she doesn't give a rip if people believe her or not - neither do I.  It comes with age - you don't care what people think - you just tell the truth.

If I may, what happened to you that made you experience a NDE?

+kungfumaster51 Well, it's a bit complicated - but in brief - I had surgery and they botched it.  They perforated my intestines.  They didn't believe me when I kept telling them something was really wrong - it was supposed to have been a day surgery.  After about 4 days, with high fever, white count dropped, etc. - surgeon came in middle of night to do repair.  The NDE (it's hard to explain exactly when it happened or how long it lasted) - but I think it started when I was not waking up from anesthesia.  I couldn't breathe - (my heart did not stop as far as I know) - I floated up above and saw all these people standing over me (nurses, etc.) putting medicines in me and saying come on, breathe, breathe, breathe.  I went to the corner of the room and was sort of on the ceiling. What followed is a long story - but it is very similar to what you hear describe by others who have these NDEs.  A person does not have to be clinically dead to experience an NDE - that's why they are called near death experiences.  Mine seemed to go on (to me) for a very long time and was very detailed. Most beautiful experience - I can't described the love and complete peace and the light.

+Angie Wilson Hi. Yes, I believe also that Sharon really did have a true NDE. As soon as she said "it's right here" I knew she was for real. It also confirms my experience. Not that I doubted it in any way. I always thought of the afterlife was a far away place.at another location. Now I know that's not so. I remember it as being very different from anything we can relate to, but at the same time it felt so familiar to me. All questions were answered, so there was no need to even ask. It was complete. It's perfection was the absence of all things, time, distance, sounds, smells, ect. I'm sure that people all experience something different. I experienced the silent void of nothingness. I hate to use that description because most people don't like the thought of nothingness or silence or void. But it is a nothingness that everything in material form originates from. I thought of it as being like the command center of everything. I now see that everything that is material is just a very crude expression of that divine place that is total permanence and perfection. It contained everything without containing a single thing. I know that doesn't make sense here on Earth, but that's fine!

+robert cuthill Yes - exactly - everything you said is actually a very good explanation of my experience - and as you know, human words don't cut it when you try to describe it.  There were so many wonderful parts - but I think the best part (or one of them) was what you said:  "no need to ask any questions."  All were answered - in an instant.  And yes, it was right here.  So strange and mysterious - so many people have these - I think it's 80 people a day around the world.  I have never known that amount of love and peace.  Truly the most beautiful experience of my life.  Yes - it contained everything without containing a single thing!  Right here!

+Angie Wilson At the time, I knew the silent void----no, I'd rather call it " The Source" was saying something to me without words. And I kept asking myself  "What was the message here, I know there is one". Now I realize what it was. It was the total experience. That's what the Source was showing me. I was missing the big picture at first.  The Source has a new message for me every day now. Just knowing that the source surrounds everything becomes the gift that keeps on giving!

+Angie Wilson I think of life as a movie filmed in super 8 as opposed to the afterlife as filmed in 4k x a million. Life just seems so coarse and heavy. Even as a child I used to look at my body and think "Well this is crap" It just feels so limiting.Even now as I'm older it just seems a struggle to lug around this body.

+aussietvone You stated that beautifully - wonderful analogy about the film.  Maybe as a kid you already knew your body was temporary.  Who knows?  The earth is a very dense field of matter - from what I understand (which is not much).  Yes, it feels heavy compared to the NDE.  That said, I try to appreciate it because for some reason, we are put in these bodies to learn something.  I am 7 years post NDE and I have never been the person I was before.  I see all of it so differently. Thanks for commenting on my post, Aussie.  You are not alone in your struggle to lug around a body - I hear ya!

+Angie Wilson can you tell, after those feelings that you had experience while NDE,did they have implications...like after coming back feeling depressing..not right after you get back ,but after a while?

Angie Wilson

+jelena9066 Yes - I found after an initial sort of "high" of the NDE, there were years of depression I battled...this is very common, apparently, to many NDEers.  Earth feels like walking through peanut butter - so dense and heavy in matter - and I am sensitive anyway...lots of great books on this subject - P.M. Atwater ( I think that is the name) has done great research on the post NDE experience.  I was also lucky as my masters degree counseling professor (from years prior to the NDE) - happens to be an expert and is a co author of "The Handbook of Near Death Experiences" with Ring and some other big person.  This was a "coincidence" - in other words, I had no interest or much information about NDEs - she was a general professor at the school I attended many years prior for my counseling degree.  Well, as I was slowly going a bit nuts after the NDE, something in my mind said, "call Jan Holden" - and I did - and saw her as a friend and also went to some support groups for NDE people.  I am now 7....close to 8 years past the experience - it changed me dramatically in a myriad of ways - and part of the problem for me was wanting to continue to be who I was prior - and that just did not happen.  It took me a long time to make peace that that person was gone.  A new person was in her place - it sounds dramatic, but it really is the truth. I view the world and my place in in very differently now.  Hope that helps you if you have been through one of these.  (For me,I was a super helper person and very hard working - a counselor who thought I had to always be doing good constantly to have any meaning or purpose ) - now, I know it's important to do good things, but I don't take on the world's problems anymore and I move at  a drastically slower pace than I did prior to the NDE).  For others who are more money focused, etc. - they often want out of that world where money, power, prestige, etc. are what matter - all of this is highly documented by so much research - .   Hope this helps.
