Kite
A symbol of an out of body experience – see Types of spiritual experience. The kite is the disembodied spirit, the kite’s cord is the same as the thread or cord that connects the out of body traveller to his or her body and the body is of course the body! Where many cultures organise kite fights, they are re-enacting the great shamanic battles that sometimes took place within the spiritual world between shamans, and between shamans and ‘demons’ [more often guardians].
