SNRIs

SNRIs are serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) - used for  major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, fibromyalgia and neuropathic pain, obesity plus a number of other complaints, some are also anti-histamines.  Examples include

• Duloxetine (Cymbalta, and generics) -  Duloxetine failed to receive US approval for stress urinary incontinence amid concerns over liver toxicity and suicidal events; however, it was approved for this indication in the UK
• Sibutramine  - an obesity drug which  has been withdrawn from the market in several countries because of its association with increased cardiovascular events and strokes.
• Milnacipran  (Ixel, Savella, Dalcipran, Toledomin) is used in the clinical treatment of fibromyalgia. It is not approved for depression in the USA, but it is in other countries.
• Chlorpheniramine - In addition to being an histamine H1 receptor antagonist, chlorphenamine is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor or SNRI
• Cocaine -  non-selectively inhibits the reuptake of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine.
