A description of the experience

Out of the Body Experiences – Celia Green

  1. All movement was instantaneous.  To think was to have acted
  2. I came out of my body, during the night, and saw my body asleep in the bed on two occasions.  I didn't know what was happening and so got rather frightened, especially when I realised I only had to look at something and want to approach it, for me to start moving in that direction.  I didn't have to put one foot in front of another.  I just glided, in the upright position.  It was the acceleration which frightened me

  3. I began to wonder what it would be like to go through the ward door.  As I looked at the door handle, I found myself moving towards it, gathering speed so rapidly, I got frightened. I thought 'if I go out of that door, I may not find the way back' and with that fear, I snapped backwards, as though flipped by elastic until 'snap' I was back in my body and one with it

  4. I could see through things – not optically, but could transfer my consciousness from one spot to another at will

  5. Not see, or hear anything.  But a feeling that by a mere split second thought I could travel millions of miles

  6. I experimented by moving about my room with a kind of floating or drifting movement, some feet above the ground, and learned that direction was quite easily controlled by will.  The sense of lightness and freedom was delightful

  7. Perhaps the only thought I had at that time and yet it wasn't a thought was that I could flash across the universe by a mere blink of an eyelid
