Closer to the Light – Dr M Morse

I must have passed out from blood loss.  I remember just staring at the sky and hearing bullets and the other sounds of combat when everything went black and there was no sound.  I don't know how long I was in this blacked out state, but I began to rise out of my body.

I felt no pain as I just seemed to stand upright there on the battlefield.  Ahead of me was a beautiful light that took away my pain.  It was shining and beautiful and I could just stand there on this horrible battlefield and be safe with it
