Type of Spiritual Experience

Background

The following experience is likely due to the pressure that the ballet performance placed on her – given her clear wish to not let people down, followed by a measure of exhaustion caused by the performance

A description of the experience

I had been taking part in an amateur ballet performance and went to bed physically very tired, but mentally wide awake.

It was a bright moonlit night and I could see the details of the room clearly, even the clematis in the vase on the mantelpiece.  I was very conscious of the weight of my tired body.

Suddenly I was free of it and seemed to be floating near the ceiling by the window.  It was a wonderful sensation.

Then I remembered that there was to be another performance on the following day, that I had a leading role and there was no understudy.  My friends would have been upset and the performance ruined.
