Here is an experience of Miss Sheila Wahl.
"Some years ago I had a conscious passing into spirit ! I was aware of the fact that I was leaving my body, through the chest, and then I stood beside my bed and surveyed my body, but I was not really interested in it. I then floated to the ceiling and felt it touching my back and I wanted to 'go.'
… I surveyed the room and its contents, my sister asleep and the dogs, and then I saw Stanley the soldier friend who had died in Italy on 7th February 1945. He was tugging at my skirt, so to speak, and saying 'No you can't go now, you must come back. 'I said 'Come on Stanley, let's go,' and all I wanted to do was to float out of the fanlight above the door.
He tugged at me hard and said 'No-not now' with alarm in his voice. Then I realized that I was coming back into my body and I tried desperately to get out again, but I only managed half-way and then I was back in my body. I had pins and needles in my feet and a feeling of great disappointment assailed me."
