Today was a great day for me! I have experienced much, have advanced by another degree, and have been admitted again into a high order to which I had belonged before but had been estranged from by my earthly incarnation. In this order I must fulfil my mission which I spoke to you about when on earth.-It pertains to music!-I have to create something higher than anything you would consider music.
Working is entirely different here. More intense, without technical complications and more difficult because it should represent the highest sublimity.-Something unfathomably great, beautiful, perfect! It will later also penetrate earthly realms, but only after a long time.
Everything on earth has to be rebuilt now and guided in new directions.
I want to tell you of this work. I must compose a series of difficult symphonies. One is almost completed. You would be amazed to hear it, for this music is different from what I composed on earth, yet the fundamental theme is the same. I have to create seven symphonies in all, then the smallest part of this great symphonic work will be completed.
Others are working on it, too, but mine was a special task.
This was waiting for me and was the reason for my early death. Do you comprehend now my happiness in being permitted to accomplish this?-The main purpose of it is to guide earthly sentiments into different channels. This music will merge into the various spheres surrounding the earth and will be powerful. You are unable to grasp, perhaps, how mankind could become more spiritualized by music, but it so. Music is the highest art; it alone can influence man indirectly. He hears and knows nothing of it because he occupies himself with earthly surroundings, and yet he must listen to this voice, which is us, our work!
You will be able to sense it when you have advanced several degrees. You cannot hear it yet but you will after death. I have received permission to perform it for you then. This is actually an exception as such great creations are only performed as a means to an end.
