One middle-aged woman described an event that she remembered from her toddler stage, when she was nearly killed during an episode of child abuse.

She didn't remember the event immediately, but remembered it as she underwent psychotherapy years later to help her deal with her childhood abuse. She recalled an event in which she was being choked, and was lifted out of her body into a profoundly peaceful place where she felt infinitely protected and close to God.

During the experience she was told that she would always be protected and that her own angels and guides would always be around her. Since that time, she has felt them on occasion, particularly when she has been in dangerous situations, such as narrowly avoided car accidents.
