One woman who was dying of pancreatic cancer told of an experience that had occurred a year before she was diagnosed with cancer. While in the midst of a prayer circle with a group of women, she felt that she was in the presence of Jesus. Several times after that she had felt his presence. As she lay dying from the cancer, she remembered those experiences and said that she was ready to die. She didn't know whether or not she had undiagnosed cancer at the time of the first spiritual-transformative experience, but she was enormously grateful for the experience as it made her last months of life so much easier for her.
