One man who was quite clear-headed kept seeing a small child in the room during the last couple of weeks of his life. As far as he could remember, this was no one that he knew. They never said anything to each other. The child was simply silently present: He would sit or stand and not move about at all, and he had a peaceful energy about him.
The man told his wife about the child because it was so puzzling. We never did understand the significance of the silent witness. In addition to the strange child in the corner of the room, this same man frequently "saw'" dead relatives throughout the last several days of his life. In fact, his wife said that he seemed to be in that world more often than he was in this one those last several days.
I've often wondered if he discovered the identity of that mvsterious child after his death.
