I thought that I was one of very few people that have had this experience. I was six years old when I had my experience and I am 70 years old now. I was living in London. I fell out of bed onto a jug and this brought on meningitis of the spine. I was taken to hospital late in the evening. By now I was in a coma but all of my nerves were alive. I was put into a bath of ice to try to stop the poison going to my heart. This in turn stopped my heart.
This is when I floated out of my body and looked down at myself.
Then I went down a tunnel but the lights I saw were coloured. When I was young there was no such thing as psychedelic or strobe lights and it took me years to try to explain to my mum what the colours were like. I still haven't seen it. I got nearly to the end of the tunnel where all of these beautiful colours were when I heard my mum calling me back. So, reluctantly I turned around and came back. The next thing I remembered was lying in a pure white bed in a bright room.
