Tantric sex

The aim of Tantric sex is to channel the energy that would have been expended in an orgasm and in the man’s case into an ejaculation, into the direction of spiritual experience, to use the energy so generated to help you higher on the spiritual path. 

So the very aim of the technique is to avoid ejaculation.

Giving up orgasms of this sort may seem utter madness.  It is one of the few really great pleasures in life [after chocolate].  So why on earth would we do so? 

The answer is simple. 

The ecstasy and bliss experienced by going this route far surpass the sort of orgasm achieved in what is called euphemistically ‘reproductive sex’.   The 19th century Indian sage Ramakrishna said that divine ecstasy is like innumerable yonis (female sex organs) in continual orgasm in every atom and pore of your body.

What you will be experiencing is what is termed ‘divine love’.   The difference between ordinary love and divine love is that the intensity in divine love never stops, the honeymoon never ends.  The ecstasy and feeling of bliss never go away.  In fact, the feelings simply build on one another, so the overall effect is like a ladder of progression higher and higher up the scale of bliss. 

“Divine romance is like falling into an endless kingdom of love”. 

It has the added advantage that it tends to spill over and affect other people, we radiate a sort of bliss as a result.  We become a channel for divine love to flow from us to others – so they get a little taste of the divine too.

So the real advantage is not just that it is somehow more intense and  ‘better’, if that means anything, but that it does not go away.  Ordinary love is expressed in ordinary sex and the momentary orgasm.  It comes, [excuse the pun],  its effects leave a glow that may last a day or so, but then it is gone.  And we then need another hit.  It is more like a drug.

Tantric sex produces effects that never leave.  As Yogani says ‘Ordinary lovers cry and moan in ecstasy for a few minutes or hours.  Lovers of the divine cry and moan in ecstasy for decades – for a lifetime’
